I'm on a roll today. An angry, bitchy roll

Someone at CNN hates Roland Martin. I can't see any other reason why they'd let a so-called man of God embarrass himself like this by not pointing out why moving Election Day to a Saturday wouldn't work (I know it's an issue for Seventh-Day Adventists too, but I don't know if they have the "no working" requirements that wouldn't allow for driving to the polls or actually voting, as my folks do).

Another bit of Anti-Semitism from CNN. Move the election day to Saturday and you will effectively take the vote from Jews (and any other religious group that worships on Saturday).

Just my humble opinion.

The thing that I find hilarious with this is the argument that a Saturday election day will get more people to vote because they won't have to choose between work or voting.

Hello!! People do work on the weekends, especially those who have to in order to make ends meet. Oh wait, apparently they don't exist!!

Well, clearly the focus in this election should be on white, Christian, upper-middle class males, an often ignored demographic in politics and the media. I'm just surprised that the religious observance aspect wouldn't occur to someone studying theology, and that Martin (and most of the people who've commented) think that EVERYBODY'S working FOR the weekend, not during it. But I think we can safely blame the 80's band Loverboy for the perpetuation of that myth.
